Let’s face it, life gets busy, hectic and even crazy at times. Creating a life of peace starts on the inside, it starts with you! Here are some surefire ways to cultivate peace in your spirit that will ground you in any circumstance.
Pray. Make a daily habit of prayer and thanking God. Whenever I begin feeling anxious, I try to list at least 10 things I’m grateful for. This usually takes me into a time of prayer and thanksgiving with the Lord and always leaves me beaming with joy!
Environment. Girl, clean your house. I don’t know about you but I cannot function when my house is out of order. I am not a clean freak or OCD by any means, but when there is chaos in my environment, there is chaos in my soul.
Routine. God loves structure and so do we. Structure creates a space where creativity and productivity can flow. Sticking to a daily routine can help create structure in your life. Aim to go to sleep and wake up at the same time each day, get dressed and get moving with your boss babe self!
Rest. Take a Sabbath. Do something fun or relaxing, spend time with loved ones. Spend one day every week putting the work and worries down and just enjoying life.
Do something you love. Confession, I love going to the movies by myself. It gives me a place of quiet away from distractions and responsibilities. Find something you love and make it a regular habit.
Move. Walk, skate, dance...do something to get your body moving. When you move, your body produces happy hormones which help you to be more productive, focused and peaceful. Get your move on for a better mood on!
Friends. Nothing feels quite as good as gathering with a few good friends for coffee, dinner or a night out. Put on those cute shoes and go enjoy a night out with the girls!
Nature. This is just a fact. Being in nature, in the sun and feeling the earth on your body is good for you. Don’t believe me? Look up the effects of ‘grounding’ and then go give it a try!
Laugh. Laughter is the best medicine they say...and I would agree!
Eliminate a busy schedule. Take things off your plate that you do not need to do. Sometimes we just need to put something on the shelf until our plate is a little less full.
