We love the Fall and everything unique the shift in season brings. The cooler weather and upcoming holidays make for lots of fun festivities! Here are a few of our favorite ways to usher in the Fall:
Road Trip! Visit somewhere you have never been - or a place that’s too hot to visit during the summer.
Apple Festivals - Something magical happens at an apple festival. Kids climb trees, and adults welcome moments of innocent fun. Pick your own apples. Drink apple cider, and gnaw into a juicy, caramel apple.
Pumpkin Festivals - Find a country farm offering a “pick your own pumpkin” option. Don't forget to take pumpkin patch pictures, enjoy a wagon ride, pet the farm animals (watch out for those goats), and embrace the cool evening air.
Embrace the falling leaves - Nothing induces laughter and itching more than raking the leaves into a big pile, running, and jumping! (But watch out for the slugs!)
Embrace your inner decorator-spirit - We love Pinterest and all the fall DIY options! Create a door wreath, a table centerpiece, or a personal finger painting work of art made while embracing autumn sounds.
Natural Fall Scents - Ah, smell the smells! Create a natural Smell Pot by placing apple pieces, orange peels, cloves and cinnamon in a pot of water. Simmer on the stove and enjoy. Don’t have a free pot? Reach for your natural pumpkin candle, or cinnamon and clove essential oils.
Practice Gratitude - We all know we can do this all year, at any time. However, intentionally thanking God and people in our lives opens our eyes to His blessings and opportunities.
Research a fall family tradition - Where did it come from? Who started the tradition? Around the fall and winter season my grandma would make a warm, fruit punch. My whole family looked forward to this seasonal drink. I don’t remember the name, but I loved the smell of its smell! However, I didn’t like drinking it because all the mushy fruit would get in the way of the liquid. This year, I hope to find out what it is and how to make it.
